Two years old are always “in the moment”, taking in information through all their senses. Runningbrook’s Creative Curriculum is packed with real-world, concrete, sensory experiences where Two years old can touch, see, taste, hear and smell. Monthly themes, weekly topics and daily activities keep the curriculum focused and fun.
For two years old children, play is largely the work of school. They are terrific learners, with an amazing amount of energy and an eagerness to try new things. Everything they do, they do full speed. In small groups, they explore and experiment with a rich variety of materials and activities. We encourage questions, confidence, interaction and most of all, discovery.
Our Creative Curriculum for two year olds gradually introduces key concepts that build literacy, using stories and daily activities. They test the possibilities of sand, paint and paste, water, and blocks. They read stories; they pretend.. With music, books, movement and creative projects, learning is always exciting. Math is found in many places. Concrete materials (such as mazes, puzzles, and pattern blocks) invite children to explore logical reasoning, math relationships, and patterns; intricate block creations expand their spatial perceptions. With teacher guidance, math concepts are introduced and explored.
Extensive time outdoors helps to channel energy, hone motor skills, stimulate imagination, and support friendships
